Hey good news, man!
You have 2 JL Audio amps, not JBL.
That's probably why it wasn't cheap.
JL > JBL
And IMHO
Bang & Olufsen > Bose
In Audis, that is.

I don't recommend trying to add anything to the Bose set up. They use a proprietary technology that nothing else seems to work with. You can get a "CleanSweep" that supposedly serves as an adapter, but I had very little success with it. I ended up swapping out the entire system and couldn't be happier. The Bose system sounds great down low but as soon as you turn it up the lack of power is noticable. I put in a Pioneer AVIC-Z2 with Focal speakers all around. 2 JBL amps and a JBL 10" sub. Went to a shop and got a super clean install. Not cheap, but well worth it.
By the way, I still have the whole stock Bose set up with Navi if anyone is interested.

LOL my bad. Yeah JL amps and sub (10" W6). I'd like to get another sub back there but running out of room. The nice thing about this set up is that the trunk is still completely stock underneath the enclosures. So I can rip it all out and be back to the stock trunk easily. I can also still get to my spare.

I agree.

I know you probably don't want to, but you could find a set of aftermarket tweeters that fit the stock location with a higher input sensitivity like stock speakers have.
They should be more compatible and make better use of the lousy power output of the stock amplifier.
You guys may already know but for those lurkers who are just reading this thread for info, most aftermarket speakers have lower input sensitivity to accept more wattage and louder volumes without distortion, that's why most stock stereo systems don't accept aftermarket speaker applications very well.
That means they require more power from the factory amp to get the same level of volume as stock speakers with less power input.

I have an amp laying around that is left over from my surburban I traded in for the S4. Think I'd see some benefit swapping it with the stock? Was used to power 2 12" at 900w peak I think.
