Default FMIC??

sooooo personally i really want a front mount instead of the 2 sides. Is there a company that makes one? You probably would get alot more power out of the fmic im assuming so let me know thanks!

There is a intercooler only that is being sold on ebay. This looks to fit with a few mods, but dosen't include piping. I'm thinking about going with it, seems pretty easily installed. Still getting more details from the seller.

BTW u will get better performance with the AWE aftermarket SMIC's, or the RS4 SMIC's, tests have been done on AW to prove it, and one the tests done, it was either close ot a tie, or the smic's winning by a lot.

I am really beginning to like this custom FMIC that I have found. APT Tuning uses the same one from ebay, just with a piping kit that doesn't work and instructions. So I am doing more homework on this product.....

FMIC looks badass, but side-mounts are the way to go for performance. I've also heard that front-mounts can starve the radiator and lead to heating issues.

Default Custom FMIC

What I meant to say was the I am going to make my own FMIC system.... I am just trying to find someone who will make custom piping... This core that I am looking at getting is almost the size of DUH, but it has the same or better dyno results depending on what upgrades....

B5 S4 with APR 93oct, ehxuast, dp, bi-pipe, and custom FMIC that I am looking at....

Run1
RS4 S4 SMIC 293.5 whp/273.6tq
FMIC 312.9 whp/320.5tq
+19.4 whp/47tq

Run2
RS4 S4 SMIC 281.1 whp/263.1tq
FMIC 310.9 whp/324.4tq
+29.8 whp/61tq

***Run3
RS4 S4 SMIC 274.3 whp/261.6tq
FMIC 316.3 whp/316.7tq
+42.0 whp/55tq

80degrees....outside

I would say that the FMIC is much better to performance over SMIC...proven above ^

^^^true, when i worked at subaru, we had a few sti's that came in with overheating/excessive water temp issues after switching to a big front mount instead of the top mount. designers and engineers are paid a lot of money to do what they do and there is a reason why audi chose smic's, not to mention the amount of testing that is done before a product hits the market, im sure audi tested with a fmic and saw greater benefit with the smic. personally i would stick with what works, but yea, a big fmic would look badass.
