Default Greetings B5 S4 questions..

Please allow me some newbie questions.........I am certainly not new to performance cars and forums BUT I am knew to Audi and this forum....It is looking more and more like I have to part with my Evo 8 for work reasons. I am a sales rep and need the space of a wagon. Of course my quest led me to a S4 wagon..I drove a 02' S4 sedan back in the day and was impressed I thought it was quick but thought it was softish and kind of luxury oriented.....I am now spolied by the awesome ability of the Evo (modded). I am aware of the S4's ability and pedigree......If one of you can please answer this list of questions I would be grateful. Make them quick and just point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance.

How hard will it be to find a clean well cared for car?

How much will a B5 wagon that is clean cost?

Is there a source to find these cars or is it like finding my 4 door M3? anywhere and everywhere?

What aftermarket company is clearly the best when it comes ecu tuning and which company is the best when it comes suspension work?

What mileage can I expect on the road?

What is an average 0-60 time of a properly modded car?

Lastly, which is the most desirable color, package etc....

Thanks to all! If any one has similiar questions about the Evo I can help!

Michael

ugh.. this was just too long.. alright here we go.. sorry but imbeing brief on them

depends... on what youre looking for, how clean, mods, color, interior etc etc

again depends... mods, record, year, mileage

sure is. classifieds at audizine, audiworld, and here. then sites like autotrader, cars.com ,carsoup, and ebay. they themselves are easy to find..but the more selective you are the harder it it is find though.. obviously

no obvious.. awe, asp, mtm, apr, their all good. suspesions.. stasis is good.. theirs some others.

id say rough average 20-25mpg city... 25-30 hwy

depends on waht level of mods... im stage 3 and im low 4 seconds roughly 4.3... (ran even with a z06 on the 1/4 and he only just caught me at the end.. to give you an idea)

color is clearly subjective.. my personal fav is nogaro with sport interior..

An Evo has a lot of grip off the line and is an awesome car in general, for practical and fun reasons. But I think you'll like the S4 a lot more in terms of every day use, it's solid, not as flimsy, and will pull strong from any rpm. Don't worry about numbers, just make sure your going to have as much fun as you would in an Evo, but in more comfort and style.

agreed with what sooks and mott said. the s4 is a luxury car with the heart and soul of a sport car. it's performance is quite exhilirating. and once you go full stage 3, it's just unbelivable. good luck with your search. it just takes some looking around and finding what suits you best.

S4 Avants are a desirable car right now...at least amongst the B5 S4 crowd right now so it may be a little difficult finding a car right now. You may get lucky, but it may take you a while to find a clean example.

Depending on what year and mileage plan on spending from $19k to $23k for a clean low mileage example.

Like the others mentioned, audiworld and audizine are good places to look....in addition to the regulars like Autotrader and eBay.

For chip tuning its all personal preference....GIAC seems to make the most power, APR has the most features, AMS is smooth and is close to GIAC in power.... and etc. For suspension Stasis is a good choice....depending on budget the Stasis Motorsports seem to be a favorite. I have the Streetsports and am not really happy with them. Another to look into is Vogtland, their coilovers seem to have a lot of people satisfied.

Mileage is subjective....20-25mpg sounds right.... I averaged 24mpg my most recent tank with all types of driving on a slightly modded car.

0-60....stock is 5.5 I think.....depending how are you go with the mods high 4s and maybe a lot better.

Believe it or not....Casa white is a highly desirable color right now. My personal favorite has always been Santorin. Sunroof delete cars are rare, sport packages are nice for the aluminum mirrors and suede insert seats (no performance differences)
