So the last few days my engine has been running a little hot and I don't know why. And today while driving it got a bit hotter and the 3 beeps and red oil light came on in the center of the dash for about 2 seconds and disappeared so I went home and on the way it did it again for another 2 seconds. Any idea what it could be and the cost of repair? And could oil weight affect it because my friend threw in a quart of 5w 20 cuz I was low but I know it's a too heavy weight. Also could having too much oil cause it? Thanks for helping the newbie

 

Oil weight played no role in the light coming on, I have used many different weights, up to 15w50 at the track.

Was it the oil level warning or the oil pressure warning that you saw, do a quick google search and let us know

 

I believe it was the oil pressure Light. The low oil is the one that is yellow on your speedo correct? Mine was the big red one in the center display soo oil pressure
