Help! I just bought an Audi S4 from my brother, went to have the emissions test done and it failed miserably! The HC GPM reading was 4.7099 and the limit is 1.2, the CO GPM reading was 122.6511 and the limit is 15.00. I recently had 2 O2 sensors replaced......the check engine light is on and the most recent codes are:
18032 MIL request signal active (check TCM for errors)
16502 Coolant Temp Sensor G62 signal to high
17867 Exhaust gas temp sensor 2 (G236) implausible signal
17535 Fuel Trim Bank 1 - system too rich
17537 Fuel Trim Bank 2 - system too rich
17869 Exhaust Gas Temp Regulation for Bank 1 implausible signal
17965 Charge pressure control positive deviation

HELP! Anyone out there that can tell me where to start would be awesome!

I appreciate any comments or suggestions.

 

start with a coolant temp sensor and 2 egt's..

i think shokan has them for 125 per, 1 year warranty. or get a tune and have them coded out. pass emissions but fail safety net..

 

What are EGT's? I just dont' even know where to start and I don't want to throw a bunch of parts at my car......

And this is the coolant temp sensor:

The egt's measure the exhaust gas temperature. Yours seem to not be reading properly anymore judging by your codes.

This car has no mods - all factory.....

 

As bigern said you might want to try Shokan.com or Audis4parts.com. They both are Audi salvage yards and have good prices.

Maintenance is key on these cars, so stay on top of it or this car will bury you!
