Default Help, Brake prolem

So I am driving along, and my brakes just go. I am pushing the pedal to the floor, and there is almost no resistance. Emergency/hand brake was not working either. Luckily I was not going fast, and downshifting worked just fine. So I drive to a parking lot, my brakes are screaming, as something was clearly grinding/rubbing. When I finally pull over, there is brake fluid all over my drivers side rear wheel and tire.

Does anyone know what the f could have happened? Did my brake lines just break? I have not had a chance to take the wheel off and look, as I had to get back to work. Bear in mind I was in need of new brakes. Thanks for your help.[/align]
