Default Hopefully getting a new S4 by Friday!

Hi everyone,

If all goes well I will be picking up a '00 S4 6sp on Friday. Carfax checked out ok and I will take it out for a spin on Friday before the final transaction. Seems to have been maintained well. Is there any things I should look out for? Car has 68k miles on it. I plan to do the timing belt and water pump soon after I get it. Is there a way to check the turbos by driving it? What should they sound like when they are about to die? I also plan to check to make sure no griding in tranny and check for smoke coming out of exhaust.

thanks ahead of time!

I might autoX the car, depends on how competitive it can be in stock class.

Finally I'll tell a little of myself

This will be my first European car. Previously I had..

96 Eclipse GSX
03 Acural CL-S 6 Sp. (few months only because of change in job)
94 Toyota Soarer GT (yup, RHD 1JZ-GTE)
93 RX-7 R1 (Tracked it now and then, hell of a maintenance hog)

Anyhow Thanks again!

PS. I did read the FAQ, just wondering if there are any other tips.

yeah... get the timing belt and such done... Other than that you should be set... theres no real way to tell for turbos...basically you will know it if they are about to go..
