how much power are these mods worth?
Their (AWE/APR/Stratmosphere etc) websites tell you what you'll get.

i have done quite a bit of researching, but numbers companies claim arent always correct, which is why i figured i would ask people who might hvae these mods and would know. also, i dont think its too safe to assume you can add up gains right on top of eachother...for example: APR chip (91 octane since thats all there is in CA) brings it up to 307 hp/ 366 lb-ft. of tourque. Then for downpipes and exhaust, each say they add 20 hp. So is it safe to add 307 and 40 to get 347 hp? Also, do diverter valves increase power at all? the ones ive looked at havent given any numbers, im thinking they are a good upgrade cuz they are better than the stock ones (reliability issues)
I agree that the numbers are arbitrary at best, however; they are probably close.
I don't see how "people" could know what they're mod's do unless they run a dyno?
I have no plans to dyno my car with the little mod's on it and I doubt others will either,
unless they have major mod's.
As far as diverter valves go, I don't think they give any gains, unless the ones you have
are bad or defective, then I'm sure you'll notice quite a difference.
Taking mod's, like intake/exhaust/downpipes etc and just adding up their gains is not accurate.
Gains are measured by peakness points relative to each mod. Adding multiple mod's will give
different results at different times in the rev spectrum, yes?
To be closer to accurate, you should stay on the conservitive side, I would halve the stated mod
upgrade measured gains.
Doing upgrades is good, but their are only a few that net real, hardcore, mighty noticable gains,
chipping a turbo engine or doing a turbo upgrade to a turbo engine. Unless it is non-turbo, then
it's add a turbo or supercharger or engine stroker kits or cams etc, or nos.
Any other mods are expensive and have only minor results, relative to 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.
Handling and braking or cosmetic upgrades is another story.

I have the giac chip and i run 100 octane my zero to sixty time is 4.6 seconds an just with that chip i was able to smoke a wrx that was heavily modidfied he was like wow i have over three hundred horse to the wheels and you smoked me so i would have to say yes they are worth the money any mods that you do after a chip is installed puts serious horse power to the wheels so all in all i think they are worth it but if you do chip it i recomend the drive train stabilizer (dts) from awe also with the giac chip on 100 octane i spike at 23 pounds an hold a steady 18 19 pounds i hope i was able to help you
also i went with the audi tt dv they can hold over 14 pounds an the are stock so if your are under warranty the deler wont give you are hard time they are the 710 n and they are around 40 dollars each well worth it
Oh, so you are running the 100 octane program without 100 octane, that was not clear.
Might want to try the toluene.
What kind of horsepower and torque claims are there on the 100 octane program?
Do you have a link?
