Default i Blew my Bose subs

Hello everyone this week i noticed that my Bose subs have began to rattle.. they make a huge vibration noise..
what would you recommend for me to do... get new bose subs.. or can i put upgraded the sub woofers in the original place...
Can i just make a big sub woofer box to fit in the trunk... how can i hook that up to the stock radio>>> will it work

any diagrams or websites would be really helpfull

thanks

As a general rule, most speakers are blown because the amp has too little power. This causes it to send a distorted signal to the speakers which can tear up the voice coil. Deep bass typically needs 10x the power or more of higher frequencies. If you're going to upgrade from the Bose you'll definately want to get a more powerful amp. You might want to do that even if you stay with the oem speaker.

I believe, the sub sizes are 6.5". I blew mine the day after I bought my car and luckily it was under warranty so Audi replaced them for free. I was talking to the service advisor and he quoted me $300 to replace one of the subs. I think it is like $150 per speaker and $150 in labor. The speakers are non-standard impedance so finding replacement speakers other than bose will be difficult.
Good Luck
Rob

all it is is the dust cap. Take off the speaker and super glue the dust cap. Search AW for it.

It will be a pain in the *** unless it is gonna be a separate enclosed sub. Thats the route im goin, cant stand the limited amount of base comin outta my stockers.
