im an idiot...
is there an easy way, like a dipstick, to check tranny oil level and condition? I dont see a dipstick anywhere, then again, i may be easily over looking.
secondly, anyone know how to hook up the oil temp gauge and the engine temp gauge, niether of mine work. the engine temp goes in and out at times, but the oil never works. this is going to be very important for me to fix since michigan winter is fast approaching.
any help at all greatly appreciated, i cant find these answers anywhere! Thanks guys

Don't feel bad the same thing happened to me when I was trying to check my tranny fluid...There is no stick to check the fiuid. you need to jack up the car and remove the trans pan level bolt...once you have done this you can see if you have enough fluid in the trans...how you ask well that is kind of difficult.
you need to get the trans up to the operating temp and then jack up the car and check to see if there is any fluid that comes out when you remove the bolt....all in all you are best to just have the trans fluid changed along with the filter. I changed mine..(I would suggest having a shop do this) and I saw a improvement in the trans shifting. while you are under the car you can check the connection on the oil temp sender to see if it is broken or dammaged.
It looks like you live in Mi. I would suggest checking into vast performance as they should be local. I went there for my Dp's on my V8 and they found a few other things that were in need of attention and they fixed them for free. (I had a bum 02 they repaired it and there was a rattle in my wheel they fixed it FREE)
you are correct with winter just around the bend it might be a good time to get some of this adressed

It has happened to all of us. That is why I converted my 4.2 to a 6 speed. no fluid checking.
2nd on the vast suggestion. The issue with the oil temp check under the car for sure. The sensor in on the oil pan. you can't miss it.
As for the coolant temp. I know that the coolant temp sender goes bad you should look into having it replaced. there is a new version (the green one)
