I installed the GIAC chip on my 2001 S4 today. Install was extremely easy, downloaded the software, plugged my vag-com cable into my laptop, turned it on and was good to go. Car feels completely different!! Much better throttle response and the car feels much stronger now. This mod is a GREAT bang for the buck deal!!

Next mod will be SS autochrome downpipes and a nice quiet catback. How are the gains for adding a full exhaust on a chipped car?

 

defenitely a staple mod.. sounds like ur on the right track.

Dps & exhaust will free up the restriction & let those turbos breathe.

This is good to know. I will be looking at a used '02 S4 which has added the GIAC chip. I typically wouldn't want a pre-modded S4 but the car seems to have everything else I am looking for. So, I am glad to hear that the GIAC is a good one.

 

You downloaded the software to your laptop? I thought you had to send the ECU off to get it flashed? Am I wrong or have I been under a rock?

 

i think thats an option you can have

theres a flashloader option too that you just plug in i believe to the ecu

and then theres lots of shops you can take it to and theyll do it for you really fast i think

i could be wrong tho but thats what ive gathered

Yeah I was gonna be gettin that comp from him but ran into other problems, trans and all of that but as you can tell VVV i have it all figured out everything is on its way give me a week and ill be back up and goin!!!!
