as far as I know the S4 has 2 fmic's. they are located right behind the fog lamps...you can upgrade to a an rs4 intercooler which is fairly larger than stock s4's or you can get something larger like AWE's fmic's...check out the awe website for more info on them.

i think deb38 was referring to the side mount intercoolers (smic) the s4 has 2 of them. If your gona install a front mount you lose the 2 stock side mounts and get the intercooler and piping. my s4 has a front mount on it i got it from audi performance tuning but I would not reccomend them there piping kit sucks. I had to get all custom pipes made.

Be careful of the size intercooler you choose because the larger you go the more air is blocked from going into your engine bay and lowering underhood temperatures. You may have to install another set of fans to push and pull the air through the intercooler.

i mean no dyno fan is gona be able to show you the power you could be gaining from the front mount when u hit 100mph with all that wind blowing IMO. Cuz i know people have seen dyno sheets where the sidmounts are proven to give more power.

I would mount it on the front of the car, i hear the trunk isnt as good for airflow...

Getting the FMIC means you're going to have a larger volume of air in the intake that needs to be pressurized by the turbo, versus the side mounts. Which means you'll gradually lose more of your boost towards the top end because the turbo's can't supply enough air to keep the intake full. It looks great but stick with SMIC's for performance. I'm looking forward to ASP's FMIC though, sounds somewhat promising.

Are you still on K03's? If so skip it.

You have to match the intercooler to the turbo. It's a balance.

ASP is making a front mount, then there is DUH, and lastly the eBay crap.

Unless you get a "kit" you will have to have pipes custom made.

Go side mounts, or keep your stockers until you top them out.
