I'm gaining interested towards a S4 at the moment. But don't know much about them. All I know is that they are AWD, Bi-turbo, 6 spd, 2.7 ltr V-6. What is the best year to get and what are the difference between years? What are the common problems of this cars? Does this car has some reliability issues? I know there are some problems with the turbos, how can I get around this? This car will be replacing my 350whp 93 RX-7 so it also need to come close to that. Where are the best places to get upgrades for this car? Thanks for your time.

 

The S4 has a few options, one of them is the BTv6. Another (sometimes better, for reliability sake ) is the V8

 

They (B5 chassis) came with V-8's or is that on the newer models?

 

2000-2002 V6 biturbo, 2004+ V8
