Default Interior Trim/other mods

I have already spent some time searching for these using the clever search feature, because, while being new to this site. I know it's pointless for newbies to post a question without searching for it. So if you post, use the search, dangit people I already did!

Now to the important stuff. Yesterday I picked up a 2000 S4. It came with the wood trim, and while it's better than most wood trim. I would much rather have the brushed alluminum or the black. I cannot find anyplace that sells them though. Also I am pretty much at a lost for other parts like strut bars, lip spoilers, maybe certain kinds of small roof spoilers, floor mats (rubber audi S4 ones, but not from Audi due to the $$$$ they charge) and other engine mods for more power. Also maybe a write up on the S4. I shall search that next, but I am more familiar with the newer ones.

My mom had an 2002 Audi S8 and a 2004 Audi Allroad

My dad had a 2002 Audi A6, 2004 Audi S4, and 2004 Audi TT 3.2 SLine

I want to know what turbos are in it, is it intercooled, how the heck do you work on the thing since the engine is so packed in there, other cars I have owned have a ton more room under the hood so I am not used it being packed in so well.

Any and all info will help. Thank you!

congrats on the purchase. search the forums and you will find many of your answers. to service the vehicle, the front end (bumper, condensor, radiator, support etc...) has to be pulled apart, also called "service mode". The turbos are of the K03 variety, a pair of the same ones that the 1.8T's have. Because it is forced induction, yes, it is TWIN intercooled, theyre on the sides of the engine up front. I feel the same way as you about the trim, the aluminun is too damn expensive to buy, as is the rs4 carbon fiber trim. some guys have painted it (professionally, removed from the car) and it has turned out very nice. for parts, check out the following:

Got too tired of wood trim. Going for Carbon Fiber Overlay. PITA to rip the interior apart !!
Work in progress below ..... Need a couple of more coats before I do the final wetsand.

WOW, that is looking really sweet! You should do some more & send it to me!!!

The real trip, either AL, Piano Black, or CF is WAY, WAY, over priced. The CF stuff is like $1400, what $800 for Piano?

As you can see it's a PITA to remove all the trim.

Take the money you would have put into trim, & get the car chipped!

LLtec also sells trim over lays, but I have never seen it in person, & it's $450.

No matter which trim u buy/diy, you gotta go thru this painful process of removing them.
It seems pretty straighforward, once you have it all removed though.

So lets say that the stock B5 S4 is pushing what 200 AWHP. How much more AWHP and AWTQ can I add without having to replace internals and such? I am not looking for serious power. I would be happy with around 285-315 AWHP

If I were to upgrade the turbos/IC. what would you recommend? Could I get my desired HP with just upgraded these?

Strut bars? I can't seem to find those anywhere.

CAI - do they even exsist/help on the S4

BOV, I want one very bad. I love them. Where do I get a good one, do they have any adjustable ones available?

Lowering Springs - I don't want to be really low, maybe just .75 - 1" max

turbo upgrade - KO4, but any turbo upgrade is alot of $$ since you have to pull the motor to access the turbos, IMO not worth it for now.

IC's - go with some rs4 intercoolers

strut bars - none exist

CAI - debated topic, some say it helps some dont. eitherway it makes the car sound alot better

BOV - it will make you CEL come on, so dont bother. get a nice DV like a forge or something

lowering springs - anything is good really, jut make sure you replace the struts with something better than stock that can handle the drop. Eibach and H&R have some nice cup kits

CAI - Who makes them for Audi, my searches come up with nothing.

DV - I am not familiar with turbo'd cars really, this is my first one. Will the DV sound like a BOV? or what now?

Should I just chip it to get some more power? I want to put enough power, but not to much ill be blowing the tranny or snapping anything.

Also, exhaust. I love V8's I hate I4's. I know this is a V6. I want it to sound mean, but not to loud that it will overpower the turbowhine/BOV/DV whatever I get.
