CAI - fogettaboutit, invest your money elsewhere

the only time i heard my dv's "blow off" was on a cold day (45ish F) under releasing WOT. CHIP IT. dont worry about the tranny. its german, you wont break it. most of the car is bulletproof.

So what does a DV do in comp to a BOV? The main reason I want the BOV is because I love the blow off sound. Also I was told the CAI make our cars sound a lot better. So maybe a mod down the road?

What chip would you recommend, there are so many out there. I am not new to Audi, but I am new to modding them.

DV's, also called bypass valves, reroute the boost pressure elsewhere in the intake system rather than vent it into the atmosphere. dont get bov, too many kids on here are so consumed with the whoosh noise. you bought an audi, not a toyota. bov will make the mil come on.

just about any chip is good. i have OCT from stratmosphere and i like it. giac X is popular. you really cant go wrong. keep in mind the other basic things you will need to do when you chip it though. upgraded diverter valves, throttle body boot are the biggest things.

in my opinion, chip first, then exhaust, then cai. look at stratmosohere stage 3 to get a good idea. http://www.stratmosphere.com/oct_s4_stage31.htm
that will give you pretty much the most power you can get before spending serious cash.

oh the reason you probably cant find any cai's is...well have you looked under your hood??? where you gona put it so it can pull cold air?

That's a nice package, little pricey for all at once, so I may try the turbo back first, then chip, then maybe move onto some appearance things.

Is the trim just wood with attachments on the back that can come off. Is there anyway I could make a mold of it and use fiberglass to create new pieces or just fiberglass over the existing trim?

You can just sand them off.
Finally the CF trims are ready. Took me a while. [:-]

That looks good, how much did that run you? Also how do you take the pieces off? Are the clamped and need a release or kinda carefully pull em?

Who makes a good throttle body boot, I am thinking that and a pair of DV will be my first mod.
