go with upgraded side mount intercoolers. there are front mounts out there for these vehicles but not as good. i've got awe intercoolers and they work great.

Definitly go with the K04's. Youll also need the inlets from the rs4 or replica like 034 and the hardware. While you install if you arent putting in aftermarket exhaust you should gut your precats (called piggie pipes) and weld in new O2 bungs with CEL eliminators. Also a 5 bar fuel pressure regulator and a stage 3- tune will make a significant difference.

AWE and ER sidemounts are both very good. IPP and RS4 arent worth the money when you can get AWE or ER for just a little more. FWIW ER is the biggest.

Frontmounts are great also, the only drawbacks are that it blocks airflow to the radiator so if you get on a racetrack your temps will run high. You also have to cut your bumper supports, and yeah you do have to get rid of the fan and buy an electric one, this helps pull air though the radiator at idle in stand still traffic but wont cut it working the car at 5000rpm on the track. This is definitly alot cheaper than sidemounts though

www.jhmotorports.com has the ER coolers, 034 inlets, and a highly reccomended front mount kit. Tons of great parts here

www.vastperformance.com should have cel eliminators, the FPR, and could provide you with a stage 3- tune. Great parts and customer sevice here too

Can anyone recommend a legitimate spot to picking up some K04's? And a shop that would do the install and a tune? In Rochester, NY.

99.99 percent of the shops aren't going to be able to "tune" your car. They can install an OTS kit with an OTS tune but that is about it. I know it is about 5-6 hours for you, but if you take the trip down to Long Island, SSP can set you up with an install and a custom tune for you.

Fairly cheap too.

www.CTSturbo.com has k04's for $2250 IIRC

034 inlets are like $375

EPL in stratford CT (not far from NY) has a holiday special on their K04 fueling and tuning kit $1799, if you bring the car to them you can get a custom dyno tune just like ssp
