Default Ko4 time.

Hey boys and girls, I am in the market for a set of Ko4's I know where to get them new at but I am looking for a set of either blown out ko4's or a set of used one's that I can rebuid, just trying to cut costs on this project and this could be a good start to that. So if you hear of anything drop me a line. Thanks.

those were k03's.

Try the classifieds on Audizine and Audiworld. I tryed to find a set in need of a rebuild for a couple weeks this fall but couldnt. I ended up finding a set freshly rebuilt for ~$2000 on there

I just paid $2100 from JHM for mine, good price. What does it cost roughly to rebuild?

Mine were rebuilt by Comp Turbo in CA, total was $1203 + shipping on the invoice in box. Theyre all balanced and I was told comp turbo warranted them for 1 year also, not that i plan on contacting them if they blow. They both look brand new, but judging by the invoice when they were sent to be rebuilt one was in good condition and just needed the rebuild kit, but the other was fucked, probably a poor install and was starved for oil because both wheels were fubar.

Breakdown of the invoice:
  • 2x Labor $600
  • 2x Rebuild kit $250
  • 1 k04 turbine wheel $149
  • 1 K04 comp wheel $95
  • 1 k04 center bearing carrier $109
Again i didnt send them there, if it was my call i would have sent them to Blouch for some 997 or RS6 compressor wheels. Depending on what compressor wheel you go with price varies but its closer to $1700 for a hybrid rebuild IIRC

A basic rebuild from Blouch will run you 1100 all said and done.

Still cheaper then buying brand new. Thanks for the heads up guys. I'll start looking into it. And JHM is my standby guy provided I buy brand new. He has always hooked it up and is a super easy guy to work with. I highly recomend JHM to anybody looking for almost anything especially in the B5 range.
