labree downpipes
They are probably the best downpipes for our cars since they are the only true divorced wastegate-style downpipes for our cars. Thats what I am going to get when I eventualy upgrade to DP's (hopefully soon)
From what I understadn the La Bree's aloow quicker turbo spool up and better torque and responsiveness up front but may not ultimatly be as free flowing as an APR/AWE or Autospeed DP at the mid/top end. (I don't know any of this from direct experience - just from what I have read others posting on other forums - so this is just my understanding) - if so - in many ways I wish i would have considered them as opposed to the AWE DPs I got. (I didn't know about La Bree until very recently). My reasoning - most of my driving is stop & go and around town. I am finding I don't always have the oppurtnity to fully spool up before I have to back it off...I am really noticing the turbo lag of my KO4 setup vs my old KO3s - and in some ways they are less fun/engaging in this sort of around town traffic. Sure they absolutly explode out on the road - but i feel that the KO4s alone would do that even with a slightly more restrictive DP. I also feel in some ways that I have less low end torque then before. Anyway it seems to me that for most people - who use their S4s as daily drivers around town - that the advantages of a La Bree type of DP would be worthwhile and allow the KO4s to be a bit more civil around town. For the rest of course - who are more top end - track types - perhaps an AWE or such makes more sense....though even on the track I could see that having the turbos spool up just a bit quicker with less lag could have its advantages. Anyway - wish i had known about these before - not that I'm unhappy with my AWE DPs - not at all - but I can see the benefits of the La Breee type of approach (If I am understanding it and its effects correctly)
