I have a pretty good steering fluid leak on my 1993 Audi S4. I think I have it narrowed down to the J-Hose. The dealership wants $500 for this high pressure hose. Does anyone know of a place that sells these online or of a place where I could get one besides the dealership? $500 seems a little ridiculous for a 2 foot hose.

 

uhm i hae no idea what a J hose is nbut couldnt you try making ones with generic hose?

 

I don't know exactly which hose you need, but I was just searching online and I can't find a power steering hose for your car over 100$

 

Yeah I could not believe it either. I tried several dealerships and they all said that they could not get it or it would be $500. Getting hard to find parts for a 93!

However, I did luck out and I think I got a guy that fabricate one for me for about $100. Hope it works out.

 

Alright. I got the fabricated j-hose for $50.

Also had to replace the fuel pump as my car was not starting right. This solved the starting issue but now my car has white smoke coming out of the exhaust.

Any thoughts on the white smoke?

 

white smoke is coolant, smokes constantly, or stops after a bit?
