Default Looking at getting a 2001 S4

Disclaimer: Total Noob, sorry for all the basic Q's. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

I've had a 2000 A4 2.8 for the past 5 years and absolutely love the car. However, recently I've decided I would like a little more power so I thought why not look at getting an S4.

I was wondering what the highest I should pay on a 2001 S4 in good shape at about 80000 miles is? Also, I'm slightly worried about the turbos, I've read on this forum that they are around 2000-3000 to replace is there any way to tell what life they have left in them? How much do better turbos cost. Other than the turbos and Timing Belt what should I expect to have to throw at it money wise? How long do these last on average?

Also, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what I should expect to get on a 2000 A4 with 88000 on it. It's in great shape and has a new Timing Belt.

Last Question, what is the cheapest mod to increase the performance of an S4?

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
