Lost my key on superman!
Of all things to lose at an amusement park very far away from home, my freakin car key was magically tossed from my pocket saturday to my 2001 s4.
I did some looking around on here, and have seen the fobs on ebay for cheap but heard they are made of chitty metal, are they ok to use and if not, what are my options?
Dealer quoted 160 for the key plus another hour for programing.
I do have a Vag-com for the car, and the spare key.
It was a damn DAMN good rollercoaster but it wasn't worth 260 bucks!

Did you leave your info with the park....they usually pretty good with finding stuffs at the end of the days...most of the times all the loose stuffs would drop in the restricted area...so only employee can access to it....my friend drop her cell phone on the ride...and the day next they call her
Dude yesss4 !!! haha that is so funny...darwinism. Wow. Ugh I was told by the dealer 70 bucks for a key so yours is f-ed up. Also they do have to program it, but tell them your only paying 30min of labour, you be the boss my friend. Ebay, I have no idea..
Haha, no offesnse but the same thing happened to me, on the same exact ride. It was at Great America in Ca. We were told we could wait till the park closed and they would bring any keys/wallets/phones, etc to the front gate. The last set of keys the guy had were mine.
Still no luck.
Called lost and found today and they had nothing new.
The ride is something in the neighborhood of 70% over water so unless they sent in a scuba crew I doubt it will show up.
Any ideas on where to get a replacement?
I talked to a buddy that works at a vw dealer and he said he can cut the new one for me, and I have the Vag-Com setup for my car so IIRC I can program it myself right?
Now to find a key fob!
How can I tell what to look for? Which ones would work with my car?
