Lowering
I run 19"s on my lowered 2001 S4 Avant and I don't normally rub at all. I have found that there are situations where they hit (hard) - ussually when going over bumps (not speed bumps just uneven bumps in the road - often surprising me) at speed and most often when I'm turning a bit. So I've noticed a few minor dents in my bodywork (wheel well) where my tire has hit. I've been told that for about $500 I could flare out all 4 wheel wells - however a chance of cracking the paint. I'm holding out as is and hoping for the best. So far so good.
Imolas4 i appreciate your opinion but that is my set up and i have never rubbed, and the only time i get caught on anything is because of my uuc exhaust, the can hangs a little lower. However, i do have a bent rim right now because i got hit by a deck chair that fell out of a truck on the highway, but i guess **** happens, i did get his insurance info tho
i will try to post some pics here soon
i will try to post some pics here soonPLease can someone tell me do 18s look awkward at all on the B6 S4?
Can they look very good? I see the 19 fits the wheel well well...but they compromise speed,
Anyone have 18's?
PLease tell me thanks.
I just got a supersprint exhaust for the S4 and it sounds beautiful
19's on the B6 S4 give a firmer ride, yes, but they also give a more crisp turn in.
I prefer the ride AND performace of the 19's on my car.
I would want to drop it about an inch or so.
If done right, with a nice set of CO's you can attain a better feeling AND performing ride.
I'll probably look into doing a custom Penske set of CO's when the new car arrives.
(swapping out my 2005 S4 Tip for 2005 S4 6mt due to technical difficulties with the car)
Also, if you have a set of light, forged 19's you will NOT compromise speed or acceleration.
You will improve it. Less unsprung weight, the quicker the power gets to the pavement.
I'm going to a 19" wheel that is 20 lbs, instead of the stock 29lbs.
Also, doing a BBK that will drop 14lbs per corner, in the fronts.
I'm getting it'll drop at least .2-.3, 0-60.
Jenny, you know the stock wheels on a B6 S4 are 18's ?????
They look just fine.
18's: Stock Avus wheels/tires
