Default NOGARO BLUE (tape) S4 (autocross content)

With the points season over the last NER/SCCA driving event was to be a team event held just for fun. In addition to my usual friend connor i convinced another to come in his moms 6-speed cooper S (dad wouldnt let him have the cayman S).

Because it was "just for fun" we decided to spend $115 on 3M blue painters tape and do a little custom work.

Anyway it was cold (38* on my first run, 53* mid day) so traction was an issue for a most people. Saw ALOT of spinouts even in AWD cars (sorry to the girl in the evo haha). First few runs i would lose traction as soon as i took a corner fast or hit my powerband in 1st or 2nd. Eventually warmed up the tires and still managed to beat off a pretty consistant and respectable time for the course.

Unfortunatly due to the small ish turn out there was no novice class and i was the only one in c street prepared so i got bumped into a new class with a Lotus Elise dedicated track car on hoosiers, and a modified 3rd gen Rx-7, both with seasoned drivers at least twice my age and 100x my skill

just wait till next year....im goin every week.

My car took at least $60 in tape itself, the civic alot less, and just some accents on the mini. I used 4-5 rolls of 3", 1 roll of 2", one roll of 1.5", and 1 roll of 1". Started early afternoon on saturday, worked for abut 3 hours, on my car with 1 helper before my friend had to go to work. We then moved the operation to my house where i continued for another couple hours, just fo finish the body. AHH break time.

After work met back up with my buddy and did the wheels (bitch), frost made the roof of my car and much of the civic impossible.

Morning of the event finished everything up. probably a 6 or so hour total

Right now i still have a blue front bumper and blue wheels. It took a good 2 hours to get most of the body off but the front bumper and the wheels SUCK

We brought half a dozen sharpies and told everyone to write on the cars. Got alot of funny stuff and alot of really nice notes from mentors....

Im not the first to do this, someone else covered a black S4 and drove it across country. Thanks for letting us borrow your idea!

Heres the complete list...

APR 93
Borla Cat-Back
JHM Short Shifter
RS4 Clutch
Lightweight Flywheel
DTS
Poly Snub Mount
RS4 Motor mounts
H&R springs (sport not race)
Bilsten Shocks
New Diverter Valves
Darintake & K&N
DBA wiper slotted rotors front and rear + Mintex pads

Currently on 18x8.5 Stern ST-1 Face III's, and 235 Falken Azenis RT-615's that are getting low on tread...

The wheels are lighter than stock but cinder blocks compared to your kosei's. Tons of people have those or the Enkei ones that look the same as their track tires. I found a place that will give me racing slicks with at least 60% tread left for the price of a mount and ballance. so next year i might try to get some light 16" wheels and throw some slicks on them =D

Im letting the bank account grow some more before i make a decision on stage 3. I allready did t-belt and stuff but now iv gotta do all 4 O2 sensors, central locking pump, and fix the squeeling steering rack. I figure im only 19 and the car only has 65,000 miles so iv got plenty of time to do it, even if i wait till im out of college...
