Not sure if this is the right forum but ill post anyway. just picked up my 01 S4 from the dealer yesterday and i notice that i have the little buttons and **** for the nav system. i press and played with them and they did nothing so i went to the trunk to try and figure out what is wrong and i notice there is no disk in the audi navigation drive. question: is all i need to get nav working the dvd or is there more that i could be missing. The dealer didnt know it had nav and a 6-disk so for free stuff.

 

The nav drive is the one just above the monitor in the car
Does the car display the radio and cd on the monitor?

The car has the nav box and the CD inside of it. It has the radio and cd player but im not sure where the nav is displayed, is it just in the little box where it shows track or radio stations. or am i supposed to have a full color screen as well. i put the CD back in and played with the nav buttons but they didnt do anything. I dont have a manual so im kinda stuck. Sorry im not more discriptive i just dont know enough about the set up. Thanks in advance guys.

 

The map for the Nav is ment to display on the monitor and u have TMC as well in the driver display
The left hand knod turns the unit on, im assuming u had a look a me album, does it look anything like this?

Sori forgot to say that there should be a seperate manual for the Nav/Tv in the glove box with the ownersbook - this mite help
If it doesnt work after this get the stealer to fix - get it goin

 

problem is i dont have a monitor, i have the regular radio. ill find my camera and post some pics, soon as i figure out how. also no manuals either and they want like 30 bucks for the regular owners manual and i havent even seen the nav book anyware. would rather not go to the dealer if i could avoid it but i will probably stop by tommarow after work.

Umm....
I think that Nav unit is the previous model to the one in my car - and from memory Nav wasnt avail in the US as an options for the B5 S4? Well thats the impression i got from all the guys on the forum
I dont know y it isnt working, i havent had any experience with this particular model - but form u pics it isnt a map based Nav and appears to be more of a TMC-Nav system

Anyone else got this unit?

Is this car from and Audi dealer?
If it is get one of the Audi techs-service to look at it

been searching through the forums and havent been able to come up with much. I was reading somthing online about how the 2000 had nav as an option but no lcd screen. and how my model (2001) it wasnt even an option which really confused me.

i bought if from an acura dealer so they were of not much use and of course the only audi dealer has tech from 8-5 m-f which coincidently falls in line with my work.

Ill check out the sites you listed though. also what is the TMC as opposed to some other acronim i read about on these sites?
