TMC = Traffic Management Channel/ Carrier - This gives u the info on all the crashes and gridlock and is displayed in b/w the tacho and speedo

As far as the manual goes, it might be u best bet: if u buy one get it through one of the sites i listed or VAGParts.com: they have got everthing!

Mike this is the US nav, it was a little behind what you guys got on your side of the pond.

Last time I used one was back in 00 this might not be precise.....

You need the Map CD for your area, there are MANY cd's, yes dealer part.

Put NAV CD in truck NAV cd player, not the changer, the other one.

Car must be at a stop to program the NAV. It will show in the center of the drivers display (AKA, Gauge Cluster)

You push, turn, etc on the ****. It will display in the center, you go threw & put in where you want to go.

It will them mute the radio & talk to you telling you when to turn. It will also put little arrows in the center display.

You will not get a map, just a "dos" word display in the center cluster.

At the time it was the coolest thing I ever played with! Now my stupid Cel phone has better NAV!!

hmmmm well i have the cd as pictured and have put it in the nav unit. does the car have to be running or just in "on" mode. i thought that i have tried both and neither causes a response on the screen between the tach and speedo. ill play with it a little more and if all else fails ill talk to the dealer [:'(]. any nav is better than no nav when im trying to find a customers house in the middle of nowhere. thanks again guys.

You know that you can turn on & off the "screen"? There is button on the bottom on the right hand stalk by the key. It will also turn on the trip computer stuff.

I do believe the car needs to be running. If not the screen just tells you to push the clutch in to start.

sounds like this thing is being quite a pain in the *** for such a dated system. i know it's already in your ride, but i would suggest something portable and even more versatile. http://www.garmin.com/products/garminmobile20/

i used to have an iq3600 from these guys and it worked like a champ plus it was a pda. the new 20 looks pretty nice and i don't think the cost is too overwhelming especially if it gives you traffic warnings and re-routing.
