Im test driving a 2000 S4 today. 60000 miles. Im really torn between the looks of the B6 A4, but the power of the S4. I coming from a 2003 Ford SVT Cobra. I know the S4 is not going to be quite as fast, but its more practical for me than the Cobra. Im really trying to find a good turbo car for under $20,000. Would i hate myself, if i got the B6 A4?

 

Get the S4 or go home. Myself I would have kept the Cobra.

 

Yeah, i know. 485 Rhwp. Ported eaton and all the bolt ons. Just wasnt a good daily driver. I just need a good fast car, that i can drive to Appointments and cruise on the weekends.

 

when in doubt, do tha math. A4 to s4 = 6cly mustang to SVT. Actually, the a4, especially the 1.8t is a great car for upgrading, but you can't pass up an s4. the feel is mild and refined unlike the "sportier" competitor yet, every day, whether driving for hours at a time, or in and out all day, this car delivers a from the fun factor of "juicing it" on the straight aways or up and down the gears on some valley 2 lane. S4 = practical impracticallity.

S4 all the way, my sister has a b6 a4 and i have a b5 s4. I would NEVER get that a4 after having mine.

 

Well, i drove it tonight for a couple hours and really liked it. It shifts so much easier than a mustang and is more comfortable. Im taking it to the Audi dealer to be looked over tomm. and if all is ok, im going to buy it. I think its a pretty good deal at $15,200. Luckily i know the general manager of the dealership and he is giving me a good deal and let me take it home to drive.
