hi everyone
i just joined this forum and thought i'd introduce myself before i start lurking around.
i currently own a 99 m3 coupe, great car, great chassis/handling, but because of the fact that it needs some maintanance, and that it's not very tunable, i'm considering on buying a b5 s4 6spd in the near future. i'm aware of the fact that control arms, piping, dv, and turbos need maintanance, i should be able to handle those costs. however when it comes to modding these cars, i'm not sure of the mods you need (other then ko4s and chip) to safely run these cars with around 400hp. ifthe experts on here can point me in the right direction concerning mods/upgrades and the costs following them, i'd greatly appreciate it. *sorry for the longparagraph*

thanks!

You will need:
-K04's and Inlets $2500+
-MAF, injectors fuel pump and a good tune $1500+
-Downpipes and catback $2500+ish
-Intercoolers Ebay FMIC is cheap AWE and ER are about $1400
-Clutch $600ish

First 2 things (sometimes more) are included in just about all OTS kits (AWE, APR, ASP, Vast etc) You may find some cheaper or used parts. If you want to do more theres unlimited possibilitys.

Welcome... let me start off by saying I am not an expert. But I am getting my car worked on next week for stage 3and looking for380-400whp after custom tuning. HP nailed everything you'll need. Some prices could be more or less considering where you get your goodies.. but to get 400whp out of k04's, you WILL need a custom tune, and that from a good shop can be another $1,000+.
We can't stress enough that these cars will have problems, and some more/ less than others. All I can say is read and research a lot, its the best thing i've done to further my knowledge of these great cars.

Thanks for the help guys!

To HP Addict:
Which of the OTS kits (out of AWE, APR, ASP, Vast) would you recommend, and which is least in costs?

APR is by far the most expensive just because you also get a bunch of RS4 parts too.

The others are about the same prices ($5500ish), The turbos, inlets, and hardware are the exact same. The differences are in intake/fueling kits and tuning

http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shar...train&IL=rsk04

www.vastperformance.com find their # then call, i guess this isnt really an OTS kit, but a company who will put one together for you.

Me? Im buying and installing turbos with inlets and hardware myself, then going to a shop (EPL) and im going to buy their K04 fueling kit (uses ASP maf and 60# injectors with a custom tune). The OTS kits probably wont make 400whp, and to get that 400whp you will need the exhaust and intercoolers
