I've been a member on VWVortex for a while but just signed up here. I got a black 2001.5 S4 almost a month ago. It has 72,000 miles and is a 1-owner car. I got it from a dealer that I trust pretty well. Car runs very strong, clutch is good, etc. They wanted me to trade in my 2000 Boxster straight up but I couldn't let her go. I traded in my 1998 A4 2.8 quattro for $6,000 and the S4 was $18,000 (talked down from $20,000). It might be a little high but I thought it was fair considering it must have around $10k in upgrades. Here are the mods it has...
S4 Euro headlights
*Had RS4 front bumper but was replaced with the stock one before I bought it
RS4 grill
Clear sidemarkers
M3 spoiler
18" Ace wheels (as well as a set of winter wheels)
Porsche 911 turbo brakes
H&R ultra coilovers
Samco hose kit
Bailey Diverter valves

I would like to put in a GIAC chip and a catback exhaust first with the possibility of doing a stage 3 upgrade in the future. Any advice/comments would be appriciated.

My only complaints so far... blew out the front passenger speaker in less than a week and I am getting a wheel bearing replaced already but the dealer I got it from is replacing it for free.

how come you didn;t keep the rs4 front bumper?? i would have loved mine to come with one. Also, get the GIAC, it came with my car and i love it. also what kind of exhaust system are you considering putting on your s4? Black is the way to go!

 

Supposedly some kid on their lot messed it up. I'm nottoo concerned because I barely clear roadkill in my car as it is I think the Rs4 would be even lower.Haven't looked too much into cat-back systems yet. I'll try to find something <$1000that sounds good and will work well with a stage-3 if I ever decide to go that route.

 

Congrats! I would bet you already have a chip in it.

I would upgrade the rear brakes if they are stock, the Porsche front kit, puts WAY to much front bias on the car, & will extend stopping distances.
