Default New S4 owner...

Sold my 350Z Track Edition and 97 Pathfinder to enter the all wheel driveAudi world!

2001.5 S4. Clean car.. Auto, Silver/Black 45000 miles, snows and summer tires brand new for 20 grand. No mods/private owner. Thought it was a fair deal. Still haven't gotten the car registered but gave it it's first wash!

Some questions..

1) Was going to take the car to a dealer and have them do a thorough look at everything. Anyone know the cost on this?? I still have a year and 3 months on the CPO warranty. $150 to transfer that over i guess!

2) Came with stock Avus wheels... ehh shape. Will probably upgrade to newer look. Best place for buys or owner pics of various wheel styles?!

3) Noticed a small crack in the rear taillight.. best place to buy a replacement? Easy install?

Look forward to hearing from you experts out there...seems like a wise forum.

Thanks...

Mike

You sold a 350Z! I would of held onto that, unless you live in an area where it snows a lot in the winter. If you would of turboed that nissan you would of been flyin! I love those cars.

I traded my Subbie STi for a 2004 Audi S4. There are a lot of modifications available for you to increase your horsepower...have fun with it!

Scarzie - - that is exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks bro!

I actually live in CT! The 350z in the winter was a pipe dream! I only had 15k miles on it... in 3 years and had enough of two cars, insurance payments..etc. I will definitely miss it though.

Yeah S4 really makes sense in CT...you will absolutly love it in the snow. I would recommend keeping your stock wheels and put some Vreds on them for winter - and go with some 18"s and performance summer only tires for the other 1/2 of the year!

This is the very best performance winter tire you can buy IMO - http://www.vredestein.com/autobanden/Index.asp?TaalID=3

You will rule in the wet snow & ice - nothing like it...

Welcome to the S4 and the forum.

The car came with a brand new set of Blizzaks with the original wheels/rims still on there... alittle worn but still good for the winter.

The previous owner also is giving me a set of new summer tires with barely any miles on as well. 17" though.

Saw these wheels on Ebay.. seems like a good deal?? Any thoughts/experiences?

Thanks!

Mike,
I actually bought those wheels from them for my old A4. I got gun metal, the finish seemed to scratch easy, but didn't peal or chip. The off-set is different then an S4 wheel off-set. I don't know if it matters or not, but I guess Audi made them in different off-sets for some reason.

Thanks Shelby.. I'll hold off then. I may just get a new set of the OEM Avus...hopefully those will hold up ok! A set of Dunlops 225/45/17 came with the car so I will put the new wheels on there.
