I am new to this forum and I need some help.
Sorry if this question has been posted before, but I searched around and have had some trouble finding what I want.
Anyways here goes. I have been in the market for a new car and have finally decided on a s4, because they are so bad a$$ looking and have so much potential in them. I am trying to find a 2001 for the twin turbos and and am going to hopefully buy one with less than 50,000 miles on it. I will have some extra money so I want to upgrade it to a stage 3 or better. I have around 30k (give or take) to spend on the complete car and want it to completely dominate anything I can for that price. I was wondering how much you think all these upgrades are going to cost and if I should just run rs4 components or what. Also is it worth getting one with less than 50k on it or should I get a higher mileage one and just put more money into the upgrades?

 

Before you take a fast car and make it faster you should be thinking about whether or not you can handle that kind of power by modding the car so quickly. Usually you should take it step by step and learn the limits of your car and how a particular mod affects an area of performance, especially a fast one.

 

I definitly understand where you are coming from and have taken that into thought. I have been moding/racing older saabs for some time now and I am very familiar with driving cars of this caliber. Also I have been around a friend who took the part to part route (taking one to stage 2) so I have a good idea of what will do what.

Oh, yea, we never talked about how expensive a StgIII kit is.

Buy a car with everything already installed, you should be able to find a well sorted one for under $30k & then have money left over for when you crash it.
