New Wheels and Rubber
Oshburg The vibration is definitely from the balancing. If the wheels are hubcentric all you have to do is call the manufacturer of the wheel or the company that you got the wheels from and they should be able to send them to you. ( would recommend the wheel maker first). Make sure the rings are not the plastic kind because they crack and can melt under extremely hot conditions (ask if they make an aluminium hub ring).

I had HP wheels on my 98 A4. They are great looking but not the highest quality. The hubcentric rings are important to the balance and vibration elimination. However I never did get rid of the vibration completely. I had Dunlop SP9000's on the wheels, brand new and had them rebalanced 3 times. Each time it got a little better but never completely gone. Stock wheels and tires, no vibration. Leaves me to believe the issue was partly the HP wheels.
RDL... what did you think of the Dunlop SP9000? I have them on my A4, they were on my S4 originally. They HOWLED on my S4 but are reasonably quiet on my A4. I guess it must be that the suspension isn't tuned as harshly henceforth less noise.
Beefy,
I liked the SP9000's very much. The car was a 98 A4 with a lowered suspension and aftermarket exhaust. I felt the 9000's were a good compromise between comfort and performance. My current 04 S4 has Kuhmo Exsta's that I am not thrilled with. I did however go to an Autocross recently and run (1) run and set 2nd fastest time in the appropriate class. This was against several WRX, a Elise, a Lancer EVO and several other cars. It was an X class with a bunch of different cars. I do think the 9000's get better noise and vibration wise as they are driven a bit. Summary is I liked the 9000's better than what I have now but can't really complain too much about the Kuhmo's.

Finally figured out the vibration problem. First I took the spacers off as there was just enough room to clear the calipers. It still didn't seem balanced right. Then I remembered what GeilKyle2said. Maybe one of the wheel weights fell off. Sure as s**t. The front and back driver side wheelweights fell off. I got it rebalanced and it drives great. No vibration!
Now all I need issome coilovers!
