Is this normal?
I was wondering if it was normal for the s4 to burn the hell out of the clutch if you ever dump it on accident. This happened to me awhile back. My buddy had an sti and he could rev the **** out of it and dump the clutch and it would just grab hold and go..when i dumped the clutch for the first time in the S, all it did was burn.
It's kinda tricky to do just takes some practice. the problem is that practicing will burn out your clutch. Basically the way I do it kinda is rev the engine up to prolly 3 or 5 it depends on how hard a launch you want and then let the clutch out till you feel it start to grab and then let it out quickly but dont just drop it. This is where it gets tricky as soon as you start to let it out give the car gas. If you let the clutch out to slow you will burn the clutch and not get a good launch anyway, but if you let the clutch out to fast youll cause the car to jump and youll bog the engine and possibly even stall it. Thats about as well as i can explain it you jst gota figure it out for yourself pretty much. Its like trying to tell someone how to drive a stick, it helps but they have to just try for themselves. Good luck and remember that you are learning on prolly one of the hardest cars to launch in my opinion.
Not sure if you were asking how to launch or how not to burn the clutch but there ya go hopefully this is the answer to your question. If not then thats how to launch anyway.
now to kinda jump topics how well does the rs4 clutch hold up at the track. I mean if i take it the strip and launch it a few times is that gonna burn like 10% of it i guess the idea of getting a better audi stock clutch kinda scares me as far as burning it out really quickly.
