Default Help with codes....

I purchased the car from a member on the forums, who lived in GA. I drove the car back up to NY with no problems at all. To tell you guys the truth I love this car. I wanted to see if I could get some info on these codes:
P0422 – Main Catalytic, bank 1 below threshold
P0300 – Random/Multiple cylinder misfire detected

P0422 – Came on the trip back home. I got the car to work & checked the code, I erased the code & it didn’t return.
P0300 – Came one today, I also erased the code, but this one came back on after I turned the car on & off a few times. Is this as simple as spark plugs or something else.

Default RE: Help with codes....

Might be a failing EGT sensor, or a clogged cat.

Update…..
Today I thought I would check the air filter & to my surprise I found a very dirty K&N panel filter. When I say dirty I mean I had to take a flat head & pick out all the dirt & gunk. I cleaned the filter very well & then charged it with K&N oil. I installed the filter & warmed up the car. When I started driving I could feel the difference right away, more responsive on the throttle & it felt like it had some more power. Anyway, could a badly clogged filter cause this code? I mean it would make since if the filter was making it hard for the engine to get air at idle, causing “random misfire” due to lack of air.
