Oil Presure Sensor Light - btw 1000 - 2000 RPMs
The oil indicator (preasure, level, etc) light (diagram of a dripping oil can) comes on in my 2001 S4 whenever the motor is between 1000 & 2000 RPMs. It won't happen until the car is warmed up, but once the engine is warm, the warning light (and F*$@ing annoying beep) comes on when the needle is between 1000 and 2000 for more than a few seconds. As soon as you get the RPMs above 2000 then the light shuts off. I had a dealer manually check the oil preasure and level and they could not find anything wrong with it. They said that it must be a faulty oil preasure sensor, or oil preasure switch (sender) . The problem is they have no clue which and supposedly they have to take the nose of the car off to replace them....so I'm looking at close to a grand to fix this thing....and more if they replace one and find it did not fix the problem....
Any suggestions?
Any one else have this problem?

I have the same problem. I am not sure about the RPM though...I just notice it go on and off periodically with no reason. I tried disconnecting the oil level sensor and I still got the fault light (along with a sensor fault). I even tried jumping out the oil level switch, but now I still get the oil fault light AND the oil sensor fault light. HELP!!!
My light just came on today. Is it just one sensor? (temp/level combined) Or what? I know my oil temp gauge is no longer working. It just all of a sudden decided to stop working today even though it was fine last night.
EDIT: Just realized this is in the S4 section...oops [8D]
