Default 2005 A6 ABS code / brake presure sensor failure?

I'm getting dash lights and beeps warning of ABS / ESP and Parking Brake failure. Shop runs the diagnostic and comes up with codes 01316 - ABS control module fault and 01435 brake pressure sensor 1 failure. Shop says it's the ABS control module and will need new ABS brake hydraulic pump. Any chance that they're wrong? I had brakes (pads and rotors) replaced in front just before getting the errors (at a different shop) and the current shop asks me if the prior shop did brake fluid flush / fill .. they say if the shop did not do that.. could have caused debris to clog a valve in the ABS and cause its failure. Sounds credible... but how much of a case do I have .. it was a dealer that changed the brakes.. and I see no mention of brake fluid flush and fill. The dealer that did the brake work only commented on invoice: "Replaced front pads and rotors, torque to audi specs per elsa web specs. Adjusted brake fluid level". Could they have caused the ABS failure by not doing a flush and fill of brake fluid? Asking a lot here.. I know. Thanks for any feedback.
