Compression test should point you in the right direction.
I just got done helping my brother replace heads on his 04 s4.....fu..ing nightmare. Your almost better off buying a used motor for 4-5k than fixing it, if you had interferience.

Default Coil Fuses? What?

Got word from the shop. They said that the reason for my failure was that during cleaning at the auto auction evidently they pressure washed the engine compartment. The result was moisture in the coil fuses. (Coil fuses? c'mon, really?) Which caused a misfire situation, and water in the spark plug hole of #5 causing a specific misfire condition on that cylinder.

Now given my limited history with Audi's I'm doing my best to grasp this information and process it into something I can relate to on the HP stuff I work with. I can't, it doesn't make any sense.

Bueller, Bueller? Anyone?

coil fuses..lol.. that sounds like a term that someone uses when they think they are talking to someone who doesnt know jack or they dont know jack themselves.. wasnt it tommy boy in which chris farley said... " i was just checkin' the rotary girders..."..lol. or something like that.. you may have gotten moisture on all the ignition coils.. possibly the icm itself.. but i dont know about all those codes.. well.. if they fixed it its all good,.. right???

2nd there is no coil fuse. There is no such thing. Well make sure they top of the muffler fluid while they replace the coil fuse. But your car is fixed correct?

Yes believe it or not the car is fixed and runs excellently according to Ron the service manager. I also spoke directly with the tech but didn't ask him anything specific. I did get his name and cell number though, ha. We'll find out just how well it runs when we go and get it tonight.

Oh i didnt say anything about removing the motor! That was the easy part! Timing, chain guides, lots of specialized $$$$$$$ timing tools, Tensioner's, and so on.....
I've done 3 timing belts on the 2.7 and it's wayyyy easier. Especially considering you don't have to remove the motor?
