I have a 2000 s4 6spd i purchased a mtm chip from another member here. The numbers on the chip do correspond to the numbers on my ecu also both A boxes, I had it preofeesionally solderd and installed when i went to crank the car and turned the key to the on position the all the dash lights came on except the check ehgine light, when i went to crank it it would turn over but wouldnt start. So i got that chip taken out put another one in that i had, wont say the brand and it worked fine. So i know it wasnt the install job, the guy i got the chip from said it was working when he took it out, any help or advice would be great

is there any lock out codes on the mtm chips, also the cel did come on at the start posotion with the second chip like it does normally

 

anyone have any ideas. i just need to know if the chip is bad or thers anyway of testing it

i would probably say thats the downside to buying a used chip. get in contact with an MTM dealer like HoppenMotorsports.
