Pretty sure my clutch is goin out, what should i get?
Well i was gettin on the freeway today an i gave it about half throttle and my clutch started slippin in 4th so i shifted to 5th and it was still slippin! is this a sign that my clutch is goin out and if it is then which one should i get? rs4 clutch or a stg3? keep in mind that i am planning to upgrade to k04s hopefully soon. thanks
just carve the bottom of a garbage can and use that, a lot cheaper (probably free) and it works pretty good, just gotta precut the holes and stuff. dont worry about balancing, it's overrated, alright peace
ok thanks roadhawk, it looks like i might need to get a new flywheel 2, bc last time i had my clutch worked on they said my flywheel looked like it had some wear and tear on it, so ill prolly need to get a new flywheel to, any suggestions? Can u have a lightened flywheel with a stage 3 clutch? Bc i read somethin on vastperformance.com about that they prefered u get the resurfaced oem flywheel over a lightened flywheel, so i dunno...
I would say go with a lightened flywheel, I wouldn't see how a resurfaced OEM would be any more reasonable. Just spend the extra mula to get a nice, quick revving setup. Unless someone else can explain why they would suggest that...
I went with the lightweight after much debate with my shop - they recommended it highly - but I had read that the OEM maintains torque better (and perhaps it does - though I doubt that you would normally notice)....get the lightweight - it rocks! ...revs like a m'fer - feels great!
I can not believe no one has said it yet..
If you are going to go stage 3 soon, you should do it all now because if you pull the motor to do the turbo's, labor for the clutch would almost be nothing because they can pull the transmission out at the same time..
So, you should do it all now.....Stage 3 clutch and Stage 3 turbo's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was told $1500 labor for clutch, $4000 labor for clutch and K04s.... or $4000 for just K04's
So save $1500 and do it all now....And spend $10K......
