Q's on KO4's and supporting mods
I plan on modding my 2001 S4 during the winter but I have a few questions. First, who has the best price on PJ K04's right now? Also, If I plan on going with the ER SMIC's, what hardware and piping will I all need? What is the best fuel and tuning package to go with? I remember talking to a Marc on the forums here who had a custom fuel,MAF and tuning kit that he had great success with. Thanks in advance for any insight into which direction I should go in
all you question you just asked in your post are answered about 50 times in this link....try it out!

blue S4 is kind of a dick today so I'll help you out bb. Go to achtuning.com and you can find k04s, inlets pipes and hardware for around 2800 bucks. try the vast fueling kit or even awe but they are kind of expensive. Vast is gonna be cheaper than awe. I think awe smics are pretty bad ***. check out their website awetuning.com
We need to encourage use of the search button, its there for a reason.
oh my freakin god $2800 rofl.
AWE is having a special on turbos right now $2100 for just the turbos.
CTS turbo ( email: sales@ctsturbo.com) offers them for $2250 usually, theyre setting up a group buy on AZ so probably cheaper if you email them.
Or you can buy blown k04's and rebuild them (like new) for cheaper than new k04's. You can even put in bigger compressor wheels for a few hundred dollars more per turbo. Would let you get even more power.
Hardware is about the same everywhere, but Dont buy RS4 inlet pipes, waste of money. 034 motorsport makes replicas that are a little cheaper. $375 IIRC, also sold at JHM (below)
JHMotorsports.com sells ER intercoolers, they come with everthing you need to put them in. IIRC during the install there might be some trimming you have to do, AWE is the same way. Same price as AWE, but ER is bigger. Both great products (ER + AWE)
The JHM front mount (or CX racing ebay, only difference is JHM comes with hoses, mounting brackets, and instrustions) is the cheapest bang for your buck for intercooler.
The best fuel and tuning package is one custom made for your car. An off the shelf kit like AWE or APR is pretty conservative, so boost isnt as high, injectors are bigger than stock but often running to their limit.
If you get a bigger MAF, 60lb injectors, bigger fuel pump, and a more agressive tune (like Marcs fueling & tune (still not custom) you will obvously make more power easily because you have good supporting mods. The custom tune (whoever its from) would just make small adjustments to optimize it for our specific car. VAST is great. EPL in conneticut is great. Wicked Motorsports has a great reputation.
