Default A question about brakes

Hey, I posted awhile ago about a funny squeak and come to find out it looks like i need brake pads and rotors. So instead of being sad I'm looking at this as an opportunity to upgrade But that leads me to a question: Will upgraded rotors and pads bring that much of a performance increase? And what are some suggestions for good aftermarket parts? Should I also try to ugrade the brake lines? And also, is any of this stuff hard to do? I'm pretty new at all this working on my car stuff Any help will be greatly appreciated

PS I found some good deals on E-Bay for pads and rotors, just wondering what you think? Thanks!

Default RE: A question about brakes

From what I've been told, bigger brake kits don't offer much unless you're doing a lot of track time with your car. My local tuner puts the Stasis/Alcon on their personal vehicles and they're what I'm budgeting for.

Going with steel braided lines will keep your lines from expanding under pressure, so they're worth the upgrade.

I figure that the brakes are important enough to leave to the professionals, plus the cost of labor on a brake job is usually low; at least for replacing rotors and pads.

Regards,
Brian
