What I don't like and understand is the blurring of the Audi car lines with addition of the "S Line" from Audi. The "Sport" packages don't allow for a distinct line of performance cars.

I didn't mean the aftermarket circuit. I meant that Audi decided to succumb to the natural forces of one upsmanship that can be found within the American consumer psyche. What Audi did was obscure the line that separates their "normal" line of cars with their "performance" cars. The old Audi lines were more distinct; you knew definitively what was and what wasn't an Audi performance car. It's sad for the purists, but good for business. I just hope that Audi doesn't get muddied up in its own ideas.

It's a matter of money! The average guy isn't willing to spend $10-15k more for the S, but he may spend $2k more to look like one.

of course the S4 exists. i was talking about the s-line, the posers car. thought they were gonna abolish it for the B7. found out 2night that neil is right... it's coming back.. yay?
