reminder... stopping distance is longer in the rain...
yeah, this post is a little late but, last friday, october 7th, i was minding my own business, driving down I-95 south, coming back to base from the Potomac Mills mall in Virginia... traffic was absolutely ridiculous, for NO REASON as usual in Virginia... well, the Ford F-350 in front of me slammed on his brakes in front of me... i thought i was far enough behind him to stop... well, we both started sliding, my ABS kicked in but, couldn't stop intime... the ford hit the car in front of him (which if he didn't, this would have never happened) and then i hit the back of his truck, at about 15mph, if that... however, think about how low a B5 S4 sits from the ground, and the location of a trailer hitch on a F350, you guessed it... my grille meets his hitch, and radiator explodes (not really but should have)... car starts smoking and my baby is rendered undriveable (the only one of all cars involved)...
my baby is at the body shop right now getting the estimate done for repairs, when i get my camera back, i will post pictures...
i miss her so much, i seriously wanted to cry, as i saw his truck getting closer to my car right before the accident, and kept saying, out loud "NO! NO! NO! NO!"
DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!

I rear ended a car once a long time ago. My vision of upcoming stopped trafic was blocked by van directly in front of me. Van was hauling a$$ and made quick right, exposing a line of stopped cars. It was wet. I was young. Impact.
Good luck on your repairs. I hope you are on the road again soon.

Sorry to hear this. Hope you can get her back to normal quickly.
What lane were you in when it happened? Was it possible for evasive actions on your part? While ABS will slow you down faster it is designed to allow you to steer clear of object.

Wow, that sucks. Like an idiot, I raised the hood while detailing my car with my windshield wipers stilll up and took a little chip off the edge of the hood. It has been really bothering me ever since. I can't imagine what you are going through. Hope you get your car back soon.
