Removing Rear Driveshaft...can anyone help?
I'm currently in the middle of pulling the transmission on my 2004 S4 manual, but for some reason, the rear driveshaft will not detach from the transmission. All 6 of the bolts have been removed, and I know that it needs to be pulled axially away from the transmission, but the driveshaft is simply stuck. Does anyone have any experience with this or have any ideas on what could be done? Any Audi techs out there?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Just as a followup, I had a mechanic who was a friend of a friend come over and look at it and he was completely stumped by it. We tried heating it with a torch, banging it with a hammer, using WD-40 and liquid wrench, and other various tactics, none of which worked. In the end, I had no choice but to remove the whole drivetrain including the rear differential.
