I am the new owner of a silver 2001 S4 with Tiptronic. I like everything about it except that chrome gear indicator. That thing looks like it came out of a 1959 Cadillac (no offense to Caddy lovers).

Does anyone make a replacement for that piece, maybe something out of carbon fiber or painted plastic? I guess worst case is, I take the thing off, remove the chrome myself, and paint it, in case I'm the only person in the world who finds it really really ugly.

I tried search, found nothing about aftermarket gear indicators.

You can paint it, or make it looked like brushed ALM. It's really all ALM alloy.
