Default rim difference?

ok, so as you may have read, i messed up a rim on my car. they are kosei rims, 17". i know not the best looking, but they weigh a mere 14.6lbs each....by far the lightest available for our car. thats what i love about them amazing performance. since i have to buy a new one, i am looking at some 18s, but it will have to be a different wheel all together. did anyone with 18s notice that much of a handling increase over thier 17s? i know ride quality will change, but is there that big of a difference, or do you think its just more a matter of tire. thanks

Default RE: rim difference?

Id prefer an 18" wheel over a 17", chances are it will clear your brakes better, and you have less tire sidewall so there is less sidewall roll when cornering. Its certainly going to feel different, but it wont be anything negative. I understand its winter, if you could get your 18" wheels as summer wheels and put some nice stickey rubber on them you would LOVE the grip, even more if you got some coilovers or springs and shocks. Just as a note an 18" wheel should be able to dent easier than a 17s so maybe you dont wanna drive them in the winter anyway, if your allready having wheel issues
