Is the s4 engine the same as the RS4?
I was looking at the 2000 rs4 has a biturbo V6. I assume it is the same as the s4 am i right? If so how can u tune the s4 to match the performance of the RS4?
Dude you need to do some research yourself. Check out:

so that means they are the same engine just the RS4 has teh K04 upgrade? I knew i could match the performance but i wanted to know how they did it. If it was just done with a chip or what.
yea also some internals like camshafts and pistions and all that good **** are prolly fine tuned aswell, i personally dont think its just a bigger turbo and like said earlier, larger manifolds, MAF, and fueling
The original RS4 had a 9.0:1 compression ratio (as aopposed to the S4 ratio of 9.3:1) and operated with a Bosch Motronic ME 7 system.
The 3rd and 4th gear ratios were different, too.
S4 gears:
3rd = 1.231:1
4th = 0.967:1
RS4 gears:
3rd = 1.32
4th = 1.03
There were many small changes, too... Suspension components were modified, a few other changes under the hood, brakes were 360mm ventilated front and 312 ventilated rear, and all four wheels were 8.5Jx18 255/35 ZR18.
