S4 Maintainence
Looks like there's a good chance that I'm going to be moving up in the world this week and upgrading from my A4 to a 2000 S4. I've had my A4 for over 2 years now and it's definitely had it's fair share of problems. I quickly learned that if I was going to save any $$ that I had to do the work myself because of the frequency of little crap going wrong with it.
My question is: do the S4s have the same little problems? Will I be working on it every other weekend like I do on the A4? Are you guys spending $500/month just maintaining or is it much less?
Sorry for all the noob questions but as the time grows near I'm getting a little nervous. Thanks!

Depends on your luck. Some people spend thousands of dollars maintaining their cars, while other (like me, knock on wood) dont have many issues. It's an Audi, of course its a pain in the *** and has problems, but take care of the S and it will take care of you.
Its a german car, and every luxary german car has its problems, and when it does, if you cant fix it yourslef it will be expensive. Im glad to have a wear and tear warranty with mine though
. If you can, purchase an aftermarket warranty with the car when you buy it. Look to buy an S4 for a decent price, then spend about 2K on a "wear and tear" warranty. I gaurantee you that you will get your money's worht of it in 3 years. Mine covers gaskets, seals, and everything down to the radio and AC. Im sure I would spend over 2000$ for parts and labor over the next 3 yrs on it, so I bought the warranty to instead.

Where did you get your warranty? I was actually looking around before I made this post but half the people didn't offer one for S4s and others were going to be like $3-4k - not worth it IMO.
warranty direct is where I got mine. Link is below. I got the platium plan, costed me about 2500$, and covers about 95% of the car.
