Default S4 reliability

I went to a dealership it wasnt a audi dealer they sold imports. and the guy kept telling me how undependable that audis are and how much of a shitty cars they are. I understand he was a car salesmen and if i went to an audi dealer they would just preach about them. So my question to you is how reliable are your s4's i am looking to get a 00 or 01 read my next post.

It's on par with any other German car. If you take care of the car it will take care of you.
There will ALWAYS be more issues & maintenance with a turbo car, it's just a fact.

I've only had mine for 6 months now, it's been very reliable once I got all the maintaince up.
Never left me stranded or broke done, just the DAM CEL light.

Every car has it's quirks, BMW's have weak water pumps, & radiators, MB has
electrical gremlins, B5 S4's have premature turbo failure, usually due to the TBB
tearing & DV's letting go, leading to turbo over spool. In modded cars, the trans
doesn't seam to like a lot of launches.

IMHO, I've NEVER meet a Car Salesman who knew a DAM about cars.

If you are that worried about it, then DON'T get the car.

I had mine for 8 monthsbefore anything went wrong and when the tranny cut out it was my fault for treating her like ***** instead of a lsdy. oops my bad. other then that I still wouldn't trade her in for anything except another audi.
