Default S4 Stage 3 in the house!

Finally got my S4 back....waited 1 week for a replacement clutch (Clutchmasters stage 3)...tough doing without but well worth the wait (first clutch chattered something awful...)...now breaking the new clutch in...slips a bit under power...need to baby it...I guess twice dusting the hot rodding SRT-4 who tried to pass me on the way home qualifies eh? (only had to use 1/2 throttle....)....engine & works (Stage 3) are lovely...its going to be difficult to have the patience to properly wait it out...but I'm trying...I'm told the clutch slip will lessen over time (do very much hope so...is this typical?) - but am putting down god awful gobs of power...sounds swell too

Haha, I was just about to post in ur last thread about what the update is. I've heard a new clutch will slip, gotta break her in. Could be wrong. Anyways, congrats, good to hear she's up and running. Be sure to live out that dream for me

Good god! Thats one heck of a setup. It sounds like you pulled out all the stops. If you take it to the track please post some videos and pics.

Congratualtions man.... always fun to welcome someone else into the stage 3 club. You are going to have one seriously fast ride..you went all out. Either go big or go home right? Yeah, the srt-4 is nothing compared to you now...you need to stop embarrasing thelittle league and step it up a notch.. I think youll be pleasantly surprised at what youll be able to hang with.. (i.e. not much you cant)

How much boost are you running?

Also, the clutch will do that for a little while till its fully broken in... When i was at the track the other day..i think is when i finally got mine broken in. cause it was slipping for awhile at first and everytime i did dump it slightly..even pre track..you could completly smell clutch.. then it would grab like no other by the end of the day.

Sooks - good news...that the clutch should come around...how long did it take?

I know srt-4 is no big deal...I used to bust them pretty easily even before (the two that ever tried to run with me...though there is one near to me that just sounds (and looks) wicked as all...still...I'm thinking great sound as it wheel hops down the road...don't know...but I liked the look/sound of the car...and to each their own...). Heck...I used to pretty much stay up/ahead of STis, EVOs & such prior...and it definatly feels beefier now - how much is hard to tell though really...'specially since I haven't really fully mashed it down yet!

Most boost I've seen is about 24 PSI...and thats the most I ever hope to see....worried about pushing too much. Used to push 20 psi even before Stage 3 (when all was running well)...got to love that GIAC X chip! I haven't even begun to explore the limits of what I've got here...likely be a week or two...not planning any distant trips...so will have to be patient workign the clutch in...not easy...right now its just sitting in the driveway...as I finish up my taxes!

When I got my clutch replaced it took about 250 miles before it was back to normal. Just don't ride it at all and you'll get the pressure back soon enough. Good luck on ur new set-up, its a lil farther than I want to go but damn do I wish I could see what it felt like
