Get the new Road and Track or one of those magazines. Read the article. Volvo finished dead last in all tests.

 

The R is a good car, but totally different than the S4. Interior is not even in the same dimension. The engine is more easily modded, but then you void warranty and run into smog check issues. You will also have to spend thousands on engine parts to get decent HP and still keep reliability (new turbo, IC, exhaust, fuel, EMS, etc.) For a 300HP car, the IS350 is a better choice IMHO. About the same cost and much better design. Of course, then you run into the "on every streetcorner" problem...

There were some good deals on leftover 2006 R's but these are very hard to find now as there is little or no stock. In any case, you can get the same discount or more on a 2006 S4 if you can find one.

 

I still see the volvo as a womens car, a soccer moms car... There isnt any beef to it. Any car company can throw a big engine in a car, but its still not going to be the same as something like an s4

 

so the moral of this story is go with the s4.......all the way i love mine in process of gt25r turbo upgrades...lets see a volvo hang with that

 

Trying to have the fastest car in town? Good goal to have. Wish I had the money for that kit.
